The UK Government is set to scrap the red list and hotel quarantine measures due to a 'declining Covid threat from abroad', it has been reported.
Minister are expected to meet later on Thursday to consider removing the last seven countries on the red list in England. It has been claimed that people travelling in for the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow is a factor behind this consideration.
Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru and Venezuela are the only countries that remain on the red list.
Anyone arriving in the UK from these places must self-isolate for 10 days in hotel quarantine, which costs more than £2,000 to book per adult.
