Avril Lavigne has announced that she's signed a new record deal and could be dropping new music as early as next week. The pop-punk icon has inked a new contract with DTA Records, co-founded by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
DTA is technically a subsidiary of Elektra Records, itself owned by Warner Music Group. This technically means Avil has re-entered the major-label fold, after previously releasing her 2018 comeback record Head Above Water with BMG.
Signing with Barker's label comes after the two collaborated on several songs over the past year, for fellow emo rockers Willow Smith and ModSun.
