After undergoing life-saving triple-bypass surgery last year and being given a clean bill of health, Ray understandably believed he had dodged a major bullet.
But some seven months later, despite “doing all the right things and walking and powering up hills”, Ray suddenly experienced symptoms that once again raised alarm bells. “I was on one of those walks, going up a very steep hill, when I did feel a little bit of shortness of breath and just a twinge,” the 76-year-old says.
