A first edition version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which had been left on a shelf for decades, is set to sell for £30,000 at auction.
This rare hardback was gifted to the seller in 1997. The retired civil servant had no idea how valuable the present would one day become.
It is one of only 500 first editions ever printed. Despite its age, and the owner almost dropping it in the bath when reading to his children, the book is in good condition.
Deemed a "holy grail" for collectors, it is likely to go for between £20,000 and £30,000 when it is sold at Hansons Auctioneers. Is there something valuable gathering dusk on your shelf?
