Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Jack Simpson as the defender arrives in Glasgow to complete his move. The Bournemouth centre-back has already signed a pre-contract at Ibrox and will move in the summer.
Manager Steven Gerrard is keen to get him in early though as he looks to bed Simpson into his squad as soon as possible. The defender has now arrived at Rangers ' training ground to complete his move six months ahead of schedule.
Cherries team-mate Nnamdi Ofoborh will also sign a pre-contract deal but it's expected he'll be loaned out to League One for the remainder of his contract.Rangers are also seeking to do a deadline deal for Scott Wright, another who has agreed to move in the summer.
