It is an annual knockout football competition in the men's domestic English football with Leicester City as the current holders. As it's an important sporting event in the UK, the Royal Mint has launched a £2 coin to mark the beautiful game.

The coin features the modern gold and silver design with the 5th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. On the reverse is an image of the winner's cup with its own inscription of the dates 1871-1872 and 2021-2022.Close to the rim of the coin is the text "Celebrating 150 years of the FA Cup".

It is already proven popular among coin collectors and footie fans with queues of up to 1,000 visitors on The Westminster site.According to Coin Hunter, there are currently 63 United Kingdom £2 coin designs dates 1992 to 2022.

But this new coin isn't one that's entering general circulation so there are no exact mintage figures for it. You can buy the coin for £8.99 on the official Westminster site, but that means you're splashing four and a half times its face value. If you're waiting for one to wind up in your change, you might be out of luck. That's because it might be unlikely to find and the coin only just released a commemorative Brilliant Uncirculated copy. But commemorative coins are often very valuable to collectors.
