As the Queen gets laid to rest, Daily Star have taken a look at the times she went to Soapland.Back in 1982, Queen Elizabeth II arrived on set of Corrie with her husband Prince Philip.The pair official opened the set after production moved to a new outdoor area.They toured the eponymous street, meeting show creator Tony Warren, producer Bill Podmore, write H.V Kershaw as was as various cast members.The event was considered so significant that it was broadcast live on ITV in a special show titled The Queen in Coronation Street.Her Majesty and Prince Philip venture to Albert Square in 2001.They were given a special set tour and the surrounding areas by the late Babara Windsor and Wendy Richard, who famously played Peggy Mitchell and Pauline Fowler respectively.Various members of the cast got to meet the Queen and was pictured behind the bar of the Queen Vic pub with Barbara and Steve McFadden, who plays Phill Mitchell.Barbara, who passed away in 2020, said at the time: "I know she isn’t an EastEnders fan but it’s lovely she’s here."I am a royalist – I love the Prince of Wales – and Camilla watches EastEnders."A year later, Queen Elizabeth II visited the set of Emmerdale in 2002.She got a special tour of the ITV soap's set and was shown around The Woolpack.The village post office was blown up while Her Majesty was present as part of a storyline.While actress Elizabeth Estensen, who played Diane Sugden, was taken aback by the explosion, the Queen was reportedly unfazed."She was cool as a cucumber when the explosion went off" said.
