Pubs are taking advantage of a loophole in the easing of lockdown rules to serve scorched Brits as temperatures soared to 28C.

Thirsty punters shared photos of themselves enjoying pints in disposable cups across social media on Wednesday as landlords re-opened their boozers for takeaways only.

Bar staff were snapped bringing drinks outside in full PPE while some pubs saw huge snaking queues of delighted customers. This week's mini-heatwave peaked yesterday - smashing the hottest day of the year record set on Tuesday - with many Brits more desperate than ever to enjoy a pint after weeks in lockdown.
