Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Prince Harry is likely to have felt depressed heading back home to California after the Jubilee weekend, according to a royal expert.
After two years out of the fold, it is possible that the second son of Prince Charles will have had a hard time seeing what he left behind when he stepped back as a working royal and headed for America with his wife Meghan Markle.
Their first time back in the UK for over two years, they kept largely out of the limelight over the big weekend, with some reports saying that they didn’t want to take any of the attention from Harry's grandmother, the Queen.Although they were sighted during the Trooping the Colour, the famous appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace is reserved for working royals, meaning they stayed inside. They were present at the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s sitting in support and respect for the Queen. But after celebrating daughter Lilibet's first birthday at Frogmore cottage, the duo didn’t stick around for all of the weekend’s celebrations through, jetting back to the states, skipping the pageant and concert in order to make it home. The Prince also wore a suit, rather than a military uniform, a tough pill to swallow for a man known to have been proud of his service.
Arriving back in California he was spotted looking miserable, the Mirror reports. Now the Duke of Sussex is likely feeling glum about how what he left behind, according to historian Hugo Vickers.Speaking to Vanity Fair, he said: "Harry has given up being Captain of the Royal Marines, who were out in force.“I think he must have gone home feeling very depressed for what he has given up." Vickers isn’t alone.
