Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

Prince William 'throwing his weight around' over Prince Andrew crisis

Prince William has been "throwing his weight around" and reportedly threatened to pull out of the Order of the Garter ceremony if Prince Andrew took part.

Royal commentators claim that although William is not yet next in line for the throne, he has been more outspoken on the ongoing Andrew crisis.

Previous reports suggest that William was "so alarmed" at the prospect of the Duke of York taking part in the Order of the Garter ceremony, he made it clear the he had to be dropped from taking part in public.As reported in the Mirror, the Daily Mail's Richard Eden says this new tack from the Prince is an example of how he is "throwing his weight around more".
