Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been hailed 'the world's most glamorous royal couple' by a royal expert. The praise from royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams comes as a birthday treat for the Duke of Cambridge, who is celebrating his 40th today (June 21).
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Fitzwilliams gushed over William and Kate's partnership and ability to represent the UK with excellence abroad.
He dubbed them the "most glamorous royal couple", with the Cambridges thus beating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to that title, in Fitzwilliams' opinion.
He said: "Prince William’s inspiration, as he has said, is the Queen. His partnership with Catherine and the way they work together, on charitable issues and on foreign tours, is perfection."Catherine has not only been wonderfully supportive, but has also grown in confidence, especially as a speaker.
