The Premier League has confirmed that the winter break required next season to accommodate the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will last for just over six weeks.
The 2022/23 season will get underway on Saturday, August 6, before being put on hold from Monday, November 14, ahead of the World Cup starting a week later on Monday, November 21.
Ahead of players being released for international duty for the tournament, 16 rounds of Premier League fixtures will be played between the opening day of the campaign and Sunday, November 13 The Premier League campaign will resume on Boxing Day, meaning England will have its traditional set of festive fixtures.
