A desperately ill pregnant woman screamed "where's my baby?" after waking from a coma to find her stomach flat. Robyn Davis’ son Orlando had been born lifeless three days earlier with medics spending 20 minutes trying to resuscitate him.The 28-year-old mum had suffered a seizure while giving birth at Worthing Hospital, Sussex, after staff failed to notice she had developed a rare condition called hyponatremia.
Her newborn son was rushed to Brighton Hospital for treatment before later having an MRI scan.It revealed he had severe brain damage, cerebral palsy and was completely paralysed from the neck down.
Five specialists advised Orlando’s mum and dad Jonny that it wasn’t in his best interests to keep him alive.He died at 9.48am the next day, aged just 14 days in September 2021.
Robyn told the Mirror of her anguish at waking from the coma to find herself no longer pregnant. She said: “I touched my stomach and it was flat, I just screamed 'Where's my baby?'“I couldn't remember what had happened, I was just screaming and crying, I didn't know if I had had a boy or a girl.
