‘The Rookie’ Renewed for Season 7 at ABC

variety.comJoe Otterson TV Reporter “The Rookie” has been renewed for Season 7 at ABC, Variety has learned. Season 6 of the cop drama kicked off on Feb.
20, pushed from its usual fall start date by the strikes that shut down much of Hollywood in 2023. Per ABC, the Season 6 premiere has delivered 11.9 million viewers across all platforms in the Live+35 ratings, its best viewership since 2018.
The premiere is also at a 2.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. Nathan Fillion leads the cast as John Nolan, who joined the LAPD in his 40s to become the oldest rookie in department history.
The cast also includes Mekia Cox, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan, Shawn Ashmore, Tru Valentino, and Lisseth Chavez.
