The cruel attacks on the ginger and tortoiseshell felines occurred within two days of each other in Park Drive, Whickham, Gateshead, on Tuesday and Wednesday.The first kitty, Daphne, was shot in the neck and ginger tom Charlie was hit on his side around 2pm, narrowly missing his lung.
Both have been left with deep bullets lodged in their bodies.Vets told owners Alison Hartill and her fiancé Lewis Taylor they were unable to operate due to the risks posed.
