Piers Morgan has insisted that the dominance of Crystal Palace over Arsenal came as no surprise to him - despite the Gunners winning seven of their last eight Premier League outings and only failing to do so against Liverpool.
The divisive broadcaster has been a long-standing critic of Mikel Arteta, notably over the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and hasn't changed his stance despite the fine form of his beloved club in recent months.
Morgan no doubt felt vindicated by the performance of Arteta's men at Selhurst Park, with Patrick Vieira's Palace running out 3-0 winners thanks to Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha.Morgan wrote: "Vieira's Palace giving us a lesson in aggression, desire & physicality.
Least surprising revelation of the Millennium." Arsenal had 12 shots and 69% possession having made the trip across London, but only three of those shots were on target as Palace scored with three of their six efforts. One player in particular was in the sights of Morgan, and it relates to his fury at the departure of former club captain Aubameyang.
