Unscrupulous landlords are soliciting sex for rent from vulnerable tenants who can't pay due to the financial fall out from the coronavirus pandemic.
10 reports have been filed about nine landlords to the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women, according to Khara Jabola-Carolus, the office's executive director.
The office had received more reports of landlords sexually harassing their tenants in the last two weeks than it had in the two years since she started working there, Khara told NBC News.
Including cases of landlords offering to move in with tenants and sending sexually explicit photos to them after advising they were worried about paying rent.
