A Perthshire village’s Men’s Shed group has secured a 15-year lease of land to continue developing a community orchard.Stanley and District Men’s Shed members have signed an agreement with government agency Historic Environment Scotland meaning they can now add even more trees to their already flourishing orchard at Stanley Mills.The group started meeting in the East Lodge of Stanley Mills in October 2018 after having previously been based at the village’s bowling club.Members currently meet twice weekly at the B-listed building to engage in a range of activities including woodwork, metalwork and computing.Group chairman Alex Cockburn explained the idea of forming the orchard originally came from the Stanley Development Trust but other
