K.J. Yossman Luca Marinelli has been cast as Benito Mussolini in Joe Wright’s upcoming biopic series for Sky. Variety revealed last month that Wright, who recently finished promoting his feature film “Cyrano,” was set to direct the series chronicling Mussolini’s rise to power against a backdrop of fascism and World War II. Wright also helmed Winston Churchill drama “Darkest Hour,” which saw Gary Oldman nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the former British prime minister. “M. Son of the Century” is based on Antonio Scurati’s book and is set to go into production at Cinecittà Studios in Italy over the next few weeks. Wright will direct all eight episodes.

The White Lotus resulted in a visit to A&E following an allergic reaction.The actress, famous for her roles in comedies including American Pie and Legally Blonde, is set to reprise her Emmy-winning role as Tanya McQuoid in the second series of the show, which is set at the White Lotus Blossom Circle in Sicily.Speaking to Allure in a new interview, Coolidge said she had a “quick reaction” to the tanning product used on her skin during filming.“For The White Lotus, I didn’t want to look like a big, white marshmallow on the beach in Hawaii, so I got a spray tan,” she explained. “I got on the plane, and I started to feel really weird.

Having last month become HBO’s biggest European launch, Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is also smashing UK records, becoming Sky’s biggest U.S. drama launch and biggest Sky Atlantic series premiere in its 11-year-history.

Game Of Thrones‘ highly-anticipated prequel House Of The Dragon debuted last month with an action-packed and undoubtedly shocking first episode. The show, set 200 years before the events of the original show, starts with House Targaryen at the height of its power across the Seven Kingdoms when King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) sat on the Iron Throne. The series chronicles the downfall of the Targaryen clan.

K.J. Yossman Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta’s 60Forty Films has inked an overall deal with Apple TV+, Variety can exclusively reveal. They are already in production on upcoming Apple TV+ thriller series “Hijack,” starring Idris Elba, which they are producing alongside Idiotlamp Productions and Elba’s company Green Door Pictures. “Hijack” tells the story of Sam Nelson (played by Elba), an accomplished business negotiator whose quick-thinking, smooth-talking skills become crucial when the plane he is on is hijacked. Laurenson and Kousetta have worked closely with Apple for a number of years, including on Gary Oldman-starrer “Slow Horses” (pictured above) and “The Essex Serpent,” starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston, both of which the duo lead exec produced.
