Nick Cave and Jarvis Cocker will both appear at the Cheltenham Literature Festival 2022 this autumn.Set to take place from October 7-16, the event will welcome “the world’s foremost writers, thinkers and performers… for a jam-packed week of fascinating discussion and unforgettable memories”.From the world of music, Cave, Cocker, U2 frontman Bono, Mel C and Michael Ball will all appear at events across the Cheltenham Literature Festival 2022.Cave will speak with his friend, co-author and Observer journalist Sean O’Hagan about his book Faith, Hope and Carnage on October 14, while Cocker will “reveal secrets from his early life in Sheffield” from his book Good Pop, Bad Pop during an event on October 15.Bono will appear at the festival’s The Times & Sunday Times Forum on the final day (October 16) to discuss his upcoming memoir Surrender.

The Coral have shared their latest song ‘Oceans Apart’ featuring Cillian Murphy from their forthcoming album ‘Sea of Mirrors’.‘Oceans Apart’ serves as the forthcoming album’s closing track. The Peaky Blinders star provides a vocal cameo towards the end of the song. Cathal Coughlan, frontman with acclaimed indie bands Fatima Mansions and Microdisney, has died, aged 61.His family announced the news, saying he “slipped away peacefully in hospital after a long illness”.The statement added: “It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Cathal Coughlan on 18th May 2022.“Cathal Coughlan first came to prominence as the singer and songwriter, alongside Sean O’Hagan, of their band, Microdisney. Formed in 1980 in Cork, Ireland, the duo relocated to London, became a five-piece, and recorded five albums for Rough Trade Records, first, and then Virgin Records.

Nick Cave is to publish a new memoir about his life following the death of his son Arthur in 2015. Titled ‘Faith, Hope And Carnage’, the book is based on 40 hours of interviews with journalist Sean O’Hagan.“This is the first interview I’ve given in years”, says Cave.
