BBC Breakfast Sally Nugent asks Tory MP 'are you fed up?' in tense islamophobia grilling
BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent slammed education secretary Nadhim Zahawi MP after he defended the Conservative party following islamophobia allegations in parliament.During Monday’s instalment of the popular news show, the 50-year-old broadcaster and her co-host Dan Walker welcomed viewers back as they updated audiences on the latest news headlines. One of the biggest stories over the weekend was the allegations by former Tory MP Nusrat Ghani who claimed she was sacked for being Muslim. As the government continue to look into the allegations, 54-year-old education secretary joined the show to give his views on what his experience has been like as an integral part of the political party. But it appeared as though the newsreader wasn’t impressed by his lengthy answers as she grilled him on air for evading her questions. After listening to his views on the controversial topic, she bluntly asked if he was "fed up" of defending his party to the public. She said: "Mr Zahawi, I am just curious - you are education secretary and we’re at a time of great change in terms of children and whether they’re going to wear face masks in classrooms.
