Cult of Love, the upcoming new Broadway play by Star Wars: The Acolyte writer and showrunner Leslye Headland, will feature a cast that includes Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), and Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria), producers announced today.

Rebecca Rubin Senior Film and Media Reporter Shailene Woodley, “Star Trek” actor Zachary Quinto and “Euphoria” star Barbie Ferreira will lead the Broadway cast of “Cult of Love,” a play by “Star Wars: The Acolyte” and “Russian Doll” creator Leslye Headland. Billed as an “equally heartwarming and heartbreaking new play about the things that bind families together… or tear them apart,” the story takes place during the holiday season and follows the Dahls.

Hit Man.Directed by Richard Linklater (Dazed And Confused, Boyhood), the film follows college professor Gary Johnson (Powell) who stumbles into the role of posing undercover as a hitman, only to fall in love with one of his potential clients.Other cast members in the film include Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao, Evan Holtzman and Molly Bernard.After a short run in cinemas from May 24, Hit Man will be released on Netflix on June 7, 2024.Graham Reynolds composed the film’s soundtrack, who has collaborated with director Richard Linklater on many of his previous projects, including A Scanner Darkly, Bernie, Up To Speed and Before Midnight.The film also features various tracks by artists who originate from New Orleans, ranging from jazz pioneer Jelly Roll Morton to contemporary acts like Rob49.Speaking about the soundtrack, the film’s music supervisor, Randall Poster, said: “The music in this film was born out of New Orleans and has that spirit of letting the good times roll.“That’s sort of a signature of the songs, and if you look at some of the New Orleans jargon, romance is generally complicated and sometimes duplicitous and sometimes aggravating and sometimes tragic. Principal photography wrapped in Brooklyn, New York. Kavoussi previously directed shorts and some TV. The lead cast includes Molly Bernard (“Younger”), David H. Holmes (“The Penguin”), Deborah Rush (“Strangers with Candy”) and Kevin Corrigan (“The Get Down”).

Baby makes three! Younger star Molly Bernard is pregnant and expecting her first child with wife Hannah Lieberman. 

Manori Ravindran International Editor Richard Linklater’s action comedy “Hitman” has begun production in New Orleans for AGC Studios, with actors Austin Amelio, Retta and Molly Bernard joining the cast. “Hitman” stars Glen Powell and Adria Arjona, and was announced ahead of the Cannes Film Festival, where it was first introduced to buyers. Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios is co-financing the movie with leading indie financiers Shivani Rawat’s ShivHans Pictures and Monarch Media. Powell, who plays Hangman in Paramount’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” stars in the project as a Houston cop who’s been working undercover as the most in-demand hitman in Houston, until one day he breaks protocol in order to help a desperate woman (Arjona) trying to escape an abusive boyfriend. The project is based on a Texas Monthly article.

Richard Linklater’s latest film Hitman has started production in New Orleans and ShivHans Pictures and Monarch Media have boarded the project as co-financiers, AGC Studios announced today.
