Escape to the Country presenter Nicki Chapman has told of her shock when she learnt that her brain tumour had mysteriously disappeared.Speaking on Kate Thornton's White Wine Question Time podcast, the BBC host, 55, recalled that she broke down in tears after being told that her brain tumour had vanished while she was filming the hit property programme last year.The star underwent surgery to remove the tumour in 2019, but only part of it could be removed safely.The TV personality revealed that she was filming the popular BBC property show when she received a call from her consultant.Nicki told Kate: "Back in October I was having my yearly scan with my fantastic consultant, who knows that I adore him."I tell him regularly in front of my husband how much I adore him and the NHS that looked after me and continue to look after me so well."And he rang me, and I was standing in a field, because now we do phone appointments, we don't do it face to face," she explained.Nicki went on: "So he rang me with my latest scans, and I was standing in a field and the Escape to the Country crew were moved away."I knew I was getting the call, so they moved away, and they gave me some privacy and I'm looking at all these pigs."The star continued to share that she broke down following the news, and still gets emotional now when talking about the moment.She said: "The amazing consultant rang me and said, 'The tumour, Nicki, has gone, for the moment it's disappeared'."I was sobbing and he was like, 'Nicki, Nicki', I'm like, 'No, no, no.'"She added that the medical professional was unable to explain why the brain tumour had disappeared.Nicki, who named her tumour 'Bert', went on: "I said, 'Do we know why?'"He said, 'No, these things happen'."I

This Morning presenter has now opened up in a new interview about her "first love" and the challenges that came with this, as he was a "heartbreaker".Fern married Clive Jones in 1988 and the couple had three children together.After the birth of their daughter, their marriage began to fall apart, leading to their divorce in 2000.Fern then met Phil Vickery and the pair became an item straight away.They had one child together, with their marriage coming to an end in 2020.However, Fern hasn't divulged many details about her dating history away from her marriages, until speaking to Kate Thornton on her podcast White Wine Question Time, released last Friday, about her "first love".She said: "I was a very independent child as I only had my mother as a parent."My stepfather turned up when I was about nine or 10 I think, and then I was really launched into being a separate entity now."My mother had my stepfather and my sister was in London."Then I got into drama school to be a stage manager, which was incredible."I got in and had two wonderful years there."Fern then discussed meeting her first boyfriend during her studies and the impact this had on her.She continued: "I had a boyfriend I fell very much in love with, and he was the first person to tell me he loved me."No one else had ever mentioned that before."So I was 17/18 in love with this guy, naughty Nick."His daughters even tell him now he's a heartbreaker, which he was."There was then a small pause, before Fern continued: "And then I was off into the theatre!"Kate then burst out laughing asking Fern if that was what had really happened.Fern has had a long career in television, starting out on Breakfast Time in the 1980s.She joined mainstream national attention when she

Emmerdale actor and his family have been documenting their journey on BBC One’s Kelvin's Big Farming Adventure, but he admitted there have been struggles along the way.Speaking to journalist Kate Thornton on her podcast, White Wine Question Time, Kelvin and Liz reflected upon their lives and how they match their busy work life with their family time.Describing her husband’s personality, Liz gushed: “I love that about Kelvin.“He’s all about the family, and yes, it puts a lot of pressure on me, some of these decisions, because he has to be gone to make these moves happen for us all.“But we have to find that balance together and deep down it does get frustrating if he’s away a lot.“And we’re too busy sometimes just to have that family balance.“But at the same time, I wouldn’t change it because I wouldn’t want that same routine every single day.“I wouldn’t want that kind of 9-5 life.“That just isn’t out kind of way of life sometimes, is it?”Kelvin agreed with his wife, adding that sometimes it was necessary to take a step back to establish a balance.He compared his lifestyle to his brothers, explaining that sometimes he lacked the ability to appreciate what he had due to his ambition to chase new goals.He said: “I wish it wasn’t some days, you know?“I think my brother’s got a real structured, consistent, very content, very happy…“It’s incredible really because his aspirations… we don’t share out level of aspiration because he is very much present, very much in the moment, and just content, whereas naturally, I just chase -whether it’s a career or whatever it might be…“Not that I always want more as such but I love it and I want another one, another one.“And with that inevitably comes a lack of ability to be present and see

'No job' Fern Britton claims she faced the 'sack' on This Morning after giving birth
ITV's This Morning had threatened her with the sack if she didn't return to work shortly after giving birth. At the time, Fern was the Friday host of the ITV show alongside John Leslie, but following Judy Finnigan's and Richard Madeley's departure, she had been promoted to the main presenter role, shortly after negotiating her return to work.The 64-year-old spoke candidly on the White Wine Question Time podcast hosted by Kate Thornton today.Fern said that an unnamed male producer told her to return to her presenting role two weeks after giving birth "or there's no job for you".She said that as a mother-of-four the presenter told managers at ITV that at the age of 44 she couldn't just "turn up" so soon after having a baby.The small-screen star claimed that she was told by one male producer "my wife was driving after two weeks" and warned that if she didn't show up she would not have a job anymore.Fern's then-husband Phil Vickery, and father to their daughter Winnie, was also working at ITV as a chef.Speaking on the podcast, Fern said: "It was when Richard and Judy had left, I was pregnant, she [Winnie] was due in September and the show went off air as it used to for the summer and then my boss said 'well you've got to come back.'"I said 'well she's going to be born in September and you go on air in September.
