Well, the mostly predictable Oscar nominations arrived on Tuesday morning with no disasters or truly egregious missteps. Even the snubs were fairly routine: No female directors, though women won the directing award in the past two years; James Cameron and Joseph Kosinski, both with Best Picture nominees, were left out too.

Top Gun: Maverick scored six Oscar nominations this morning including best picture, along with adapted screenplay by Ehren Kruger & Eric Warren Singer, sound, film editing, visual effects and original song for the Lady Gaga tune Hold My Hand. Judd Apatow has signed on to host the 2023 DGA Awards set to take place February 18 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. It will be his fourth timing hosting the annual awards show after taking the stage in 2018, 2020 and 2022.'I am so honored to host the DGA awards for the fourth time.
