The album is an extended version of the artists’ 2010 album, ‘Metallic Spheres’.The metallicspheres.io website will enable you to create personalised remixes using AI or piece together a track by using various samples of Gilmour’s guitar, vocals and other elements.It’s even possible to select emotional themes for the album’s artwork and alter preferences regarding mood and tempo, meaning the AI can produce a unique track with these characteristics in mind.You can then share the remixes to social media , along with the reimagined album covers, which will soon be available for download.The AI on the website was created by a company called Vermillio, a pioneering generative AI platform with a focus on creator empowerment and content authenticity.

Check it out below.After being teased earlier this year, the track officially dropped today (March 15), and sees all funds raised being donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America.A new take on Knopfler’s solo hit, the 2024 edition runs across nine-minutes, and sees the Dire Straits frontman join forces with rock icons including Queen‘s Brian May, Bruce Springsteen, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and many more.It also includes the last ever recording by guitar virtuoso, Jeff Beck – which he laid down for the track shortly before his death in January 2023.As well as the truly astonishing number of renowned guitarists on the track, Knopfler also enlisted The Beatles’ Ringo Starr on drums, Sting on bass, and The Who frontman (and Teenage Cancer Trust patron) Roger Daltrey on harmonica.The charity track was recorded at British Grove Studios in West London, and produced by Knopfler’s longtime collaborator Guy Fletcher.

Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera has announced details of a memoir, Revolución To Roxy.The new book, which features over 100 colour and black and white photographs, will hit shelves on March 22. It will chronicle Manzanera’s life and times with Roxy Music and David Gilmour.

David Gilmour has continued his long running feud with former Pink Floyd bandmate, Roger Waters, by sharing a documentary detailing instances of alleged anti-Semitism from the latter.Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gilmour retweeted a post about a documentary titled The Dark Side Of Roger Waters, originally published by the Campaign Against Antisemitism, which produced the project.Rogers has previously spoken out against the documentary with a post to his official website, dismissing the project as “a flimsy, unapologetic piece of propaganda”. He also claimed that it “indiscriminately mixes things I’m alleged to have said or done at different times and in different contexts, in an effort to portray me as an antisemite, without any foundation in fact”.The clip shared by Gilmour sees two of Waters’ former collaborators recall their experiences working with the musician, and the instances where they reportedly saw him make anti-Semitic comments.The first of which was from Waters’ former saxophonist Nortber Statchel, who told BBC journalist John Ware about a time when the Pink Floyd musician allegedly imitated a stereotypically poor Polish woman as a reference to his Jewish ancestors.

Billie Eilish and Peter Gabriel have joined a new music coalition to tackle gun violence.Artist For Action To Prevent Gun Violence, which also features Sheryl Crow and Nile Rodgers, describes itself as a “non-political” organisation which asks Americans to volunteer and vote to eradicate gun violence in the country.Eilish said in a statement: “As a community of artists, we need to band together to make common sense change.”Gabriel added: “This needs to stop. Roger Waters has re-recorded Pink Floyd‘s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ and will release his version as his own solo album.The reimagined album, ‘The Dark Side of the Moon Redux’, coincides with the original’s 50th anniversary but was not worked on by any other member of the iconic band. The lead single ‘Money’ has been reinterpreted by Waters, transforming the once electrifying song into an acoustic track.The LP was produced by the former Pink Floyd bassist along with Gus Seyffert.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Move over, Taylor Swift — Roger Waters has re-recorded the most famous of the albums he made with Pink Floyd in the 1970s for its 50th anniversary. The project, titled “The Dark Side of the Moon Redux,” comes out Oct. 6. The album’s first single, “Money,” a fresh take on the 1973 song that was the band’s biggest hit, was released today as an audio track and lyric video. Any similarities to Swift’s re-recordings end with the most basic concept, as Water says he does not mean the new version to supplant the old one, but to complement it as a more mature take on the material. As for the big question of who will replaced his estranged former partner David Gilmour’s lead vocal and guitar parts, the seven-and-a-half minute “Money” seems to at least partially answer that. Taking over Gilmour’s role on the mic in the song, Waters “sings” the song in a spoken whisper, and the guitar solo has been replaced by what seems to be a new, lengthy poem set in a metaphorical boxing-ring. The tune has been significantly transformed in other ways; it’s bluesier and less rocking, with no cash registers or random voices or other sound effects. Some of the first listeners to hear it after it came out in the wee hours compared it to a Leonard Cohen recitation.
