Express.co.uk at the Pride of Britain awards in October.The Bridgerton actress admitted she might be keen to make a return to the world of Doctor Who now that the It’s A Sin creator is back at the helm.Russell was responsible for revising the science fiction show back in 2005, and is largely credited with its new-found success today.The writer, who is taking back the reins from showrunner Chris Chibnall, oversaw both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant’s time on the BBC show.During David’s era, Adjoa played the mother of the Doctor’s second companion Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman).She turned in a memorable performance as the critical, uptight Francine Jones across seven episodes between 2007 and 2008. Speaking on the Pride of Britain red carpet about whether she would return to the show, she suggested that she would be keen to make a comeback.“Russell is a genius,” she said. “Every show I’ve done… I did a show of his called Cucumber for Channel 4 and he’s an absolute genius.Asked if she would consider reentering the world of Doctor Who, she added: “So if he said to me ‘jump’, I’d just say ‘how high?’“But I cannot wait to see what he’s going to do this season with the new Doctor and all the new ideas that are coming along.“I know we’ve got a bit of Mr Tennat,” she added in reference to the 10th Doctor star.
