There are delays to rail services on the West Coast Main Line after a person was hit by a train. National Rail said the incident happened between Lancaster and Preston earlier tonight.
As a result, 'all lines are blocked' between the stations and services are expected to be delayed by up to 90 minutes. The delay is expected until the end of service tonight.
National Rail said the incident is affecting Avanti West Coast routes between London Euston and Glasgow/Edinburgh, Northern services on the same route and Transpennine Express services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport and Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport/Manchester Piccadilly and Edinburgh.
