Emojipedia's Deputy Emoji Officer Keith Broni told Metro that we all assumed it was just an innocent cute face, but it's not.
He said: "The Pleading Face emoji is actually falling in popularity at present."Keith added: "At its peak in early-to-mid 2020, Pleading Face was the third most popular emoji on Twitter."But what you might not have realised that in the past 18 months, the emoji has become associated with "simping".What is "simping" you ask?
Well according to Urban Dictionary it's when a person becomes a pushover in the hopes of getting laid.The expert continued: "Simping can be considered quite cringe."And it does also have needy/desperate connotations that can be described in some NSFW fashions."Yikes!
