Woman, 71, reunited with cheeky love letter in a bottle she sent as a teenager
To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.Tracey managed to track down Jennifer, now 71 and living in Australia, via Facebook.Jennifer had lost touch with Janet after leaving school said she was "absolutely amazed" that the bottle had been recovered and in a readable condition."I think it must have gone out a little way, and then came in on the next tide," said Jennifer, who also said she didn't give the letter a second thought after sending it to sea.Jennifer added that the letter didn't bring her true love, rather she discovered it through friends aged 49.Other decades old messages in bottles have washed up along various shorelines.In 2019 a father and son discovered a message in a bottle on Talia Beach in South Australia, which was written by a man, Paul Gilmore, when he was 13 and emigrating from Britain to Australia in 1969, reports Sky News.In his teenage message, Paul detailed his journey and asked for the finder to write back.
