Council bosses are considering drafting up an emergency budget to deal with the financial hit of Covid-19. The £6.5 million amount is only the sum up until the end of June - with more costs expected in the months ahead.
The figure includes a “drastic” £3.5 million loss of income as well as spend of £2.9 million to respond to the virus. A council report said: “Covid-19 continues to present financial challenges for local government that are changing and emerging every day.
