A paedophile who downloaded over 50,000 indecent images of children as young as five said he acted in a 'moment of madness' - despite collecting the images over a decade.
Simon Dean, 59, admitted to hoarding the sick collection after National Crime Agency (NCA) officers raided his Warrington home in the early hours of January 14 last year.
Officers seized 13 computers, laptops, phones and hard drives, with three found containing the disturbing images, Liverpool Crown Court heard on Monday (October 23).
When told of the nature of the raid, Dean replied: "Ok I admit it, I'm going to have to come clean aren't I?," adding the pictures were downloaded in a 'moment of madness,' reports the Liverpool Echo.
