Orange Walk marchers descend on Glasgow streets as roads remain closed

Thousands have descended onto the streets of Glasgow for the annual Orange Walk. The event marks the anniversary of the 1690 Battle of the Boyne and it's estimated 7,500 marchers in total took part.

There are 42 separate parades taking place today as roads have been closed up and down the country.In the largest individual event, loyalists took part in the County Grand Orange Lodge of Glasgow main parade from George Square to Glasgow Green.

Pictures taken in the city centre showed marchers playing instruments and waving banners and flags.Police accompanied the crowds as they travelled through the city.

A total of 33 roads have been shut to traffic between 5am and 4pm as a number of traffic restrictions were implemented in Scotland's biggest city.
