The 30-year-old had a good run-up to start with as he made his way towards the jumping point, but he stumbled at the launch as his right leg appeared to buckle during his take off, causing him to land face first into the sand pit.He suffered a hamstring tendon tear, a knee contusion and a tear in the ligaments of the right foot, according to a statement from Team Belgium and he left the track in a wheelchair to return to his home country for further checks on his injuries.Van der Plaetsen already.
