Secret Princess, Roz Raskin's 2018 debut EP as NOVA ONE, showcased a particularly unhurried grace, its '60s girl group structures beautifully reduced to echoing, lonely ballads.

On the Providence-based artist's full-length follow-up, Lovable — out on April 24 via Community Records — those laments remain just as solitary, but there's a bit more bombast built in.

The album's latest single "close encounter," premiering at the top of the page, picks up where first single "violet dreams" left off, leaning on the Wall of Sound and building in present-day indie rock slackerdom. "This song examines the inner workings of intimate relationships, the things people on the outside looking in will never see," Raskin wrote in an email to The FADER.
