Colón-Zayas, as well as “In the Heights” star Anthony Ramos, will join Gov. Walz at a rally focusing on Latino voters on Sept.
21 in Lehigh Valley, Penn. It was just days ago that Colón-Zayas became the first Latina to win the Emmy for best supporting actress in a comedy for her work as Tina in FX’s “The Bear.” The category also included Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”), Meryl Streep (“Only Murders in the Building”), Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott Elementary”), Janelle James (“Abbott Elementary”) and Carol Burnett (“Palm Royale”).
Colón-Zayas delivered an emotional acceptance speech, ending with a push for people to head to the ballot box. “All the Latinas who are looking at me, keep believing and vote,” she said. “Vote for your rights.
