Manchester Magistrates Court heard. At kickoff, one of the police ‘football spotters’ noticed a blue smoke bomb in the away fans section.The culprit was located and removed by the stewards and will appear in court later this week.Minutes later, the officer spotted another blue flare which was lit, then thrown onto the pitch whilst the footballers were playing.

Through CCTV, Thomas, of Macclesfield, was identified and also removed. As he was led away from the crowd, he said: “no pyro, no party.”Thomas pleaded guilty to throwing a missile onto a football playing area and possessing a firework or flare at a sporting event.Today he was handed a football banning order which will last for five years, along with a £200 fine and £117 court costs..
