Premier League clubs have joined forces in a bid to push for the season to be finished by June 30 or be decided by a formula.
According to the Mirror, at least nine clubs have held serious discussions and plan to come together and present their case to chiefs at the next league summit, due to take place on Friday.
Their proposal is set to demand the season be called off if they cannot squeeze in the remaining games, rather than risking "huge uncertainty and utter chaos" if the situation drags on into the summer months.
They are set to demand a formula is found to finish the season, rather than voiding the campaign and denying Liverpool the Premier League title.
