Newport goalkeeper Tom King sensationally scored from his own goal kick during their 1-1 draw with Cheltenham on Tuesday night.King, 25, launched the ball all the way towards the edge of Cheltenham’s penalty area with the score locked at 0-0 after 12 minutes.And his long-range punt downfield was picked up by the wind, meaning the ball bounced over opposite number Josh Griffiths and into the back of the net.Newport players immediately sprinted back to celebrate the extraordinary goal with their shot-stopper, who still seemed to be processing what had just happened while retreating back to his goal-line.Nevertheless, unfortunately for King his freak strike did not prove the winner, as deep into first-half stoppage time Matty Blair turned in.
