Newcastle United fans will present a banner made from the Sports Direct sign torn down from St James Park at their next home game, according to reports.
The signage became a hated symbol of previous owner Mike Ashley’s controversial fourteen-year reign at the helm of the club.However, the giant letters of the sportswear company were removed from the ‘Leazes End’ section of the ground to the relief of fans, happy to see the back of the Sports Direct tycoon.Its removal is one of the latest moves the club’s new owners have made to crown the new era at St James’ Park.
