Newcastle 'contact' Barcelona for Emerson with Catalan club willing to sell

dailystar.co.ukNewcastle United have reportedly made contact with Barcelona about the prospect of signing Emerson - and the Catalan club are ready to sell.
The right-back is co-owned by Barca and Real Betis after both paid £5.25million to sign him from Atletico Mineiro in July 2019.
Emerson has spent this season on loan at Betis, making 24 appearances in all competitions, but Barca have the option to sign him permanently for an additional £5.25m in the next transfer window.
And according to Spanish publication Sport, they are willing to do that in order to then sell him and make a profit. The report claims that they do not feel that the defender is quite up to the standard to play regularly in their first team.
