Lionel Messi is currently ranked as the second-best Barcelona player this season in a poll run by Spanish publication Marca.
The Barca icon hit out at the club's squad after their defeat at Osasuna on Thursday made for a miserable end to their La Liga title challenge, which has been won by Real Madrid.
Messi cited the Champions League losses to Roma in 2018 and Liverpool in 2019 as examples of the lack character within the group, adding that they were "weak" and "lacked intensity".
But according to the Marca poll, which ranks the club's 22 first-team players is open to anyone to vote in, goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been outperforming Messi this season.
