It has been a year to the day since Liverpool pulled off one of the greatest Champions League comebacks of all time, fighting back from three goals down on aggregate to come out on top in their semi-final against Barcelona.
A goal from ex-Reds striker Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi’s brace meant Barca took a 3-0 lead to Anfield for the second leg, but an early strike from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum’s own brace brought Jurgen Klopp’s side level on Merseyside.
And with 11 minutes remaining, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s quickly-taken corner was tapped in by Origi to book Liverpool’s place in the Madrid showpiece and leave a bewildered Barca crestfallen.
