Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on failing to beat Man City points record

Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict on Liverpool falling short if Manchester City's Premier League points record. After the Reds ended their title drought following a truly dominant campaign, Klopp's side looked on course to smash the Premier League's best ever points tally of 100 set by City two seasons ago.

But a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday night means Klopp's side can only reach 99 points for the season, following on from a 1-1 draw against Burnley on Saturday.

Liverpool were also beaten by City themselves at the beginning of the month, which put the pressure on the Reds if they were to break the record in their remaining games.
