Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.Residents are being urged to get creative as part of a project celebrating the restoration of the Skylark IX little boat.The vessel saved more than 600 soldiers during World War II, transporting them from beaches in Dunkirk to the safety of larger ships, whilst under heavy fire.It then returned to Loch Lomond and the Leven, operating as a tourist boat for Sweeney’s for more than 30 years before sinking in June 2010.After two years underwater, Skylark herself was rescued, with the Skylark Recovery Trust working in partnership with local addiction recovery charity Alternatives to restore her to former glory.And now 150 creative locals are being offered the chance to.
