Lottery players will soon be able to win a fiver by matching just two numbers in the draw. The new rules will apply to "Must Be Won" games, which are held after the jackpot rolls over five times.
In these, jackpot cash is passed to people winning lower tier prizes if no one matches all six numbers. In the past, this cash was rolled out to people matching three numbers - seeing 128,703 lucky ticket-holders scoop £96 instead of £30 the last time it happened in July - but now it means millions will benfit.
Commercial director Neil Brocklehurst said: “We know an unexpected extra fiver — which could be spent on chocolates, a book, or coffee for a friend — can really put a smile on someone’s face.” Camelot is launching the new rules on November 7
