The grieving mum of a teenage boy who took his own life while struggling in lockdown says she had asked for help "for years".
Ben Ambrose, 15, was found dead on May 3 last year - a week after he had tried to overdose on painkillers, an inquest heard.
The teen had been classed as 'low risk', reports the Express, so was allowed to leave hospital. But mum Cathryn Ambrose found her son unresponsive at home just a week later, after the pandemic had turned his life "upside down".
Speaking after the inquest, Ms Ambrose said Ben should have received more assistance. He had been waiting more than two years for an autism assessment at the time of his death, she said.
