A worried mum has urged people to write to her sick daughter and tell her she cannot give up on life. Terminally ill Mia Parnell, 12, suffers from an undiagnosed mystery degenerative disease.

She has been feeling very down during lockdown - and her parents have come up with a way to get her back in a better place. Mum Sarah has told DerbyshireLive how she sobbed when the youngster told her she "didn’t want to live any more".

Normally a "happy and positive" child, Sarah says her daughter is deteriorating - and made the devastating revelation that she didn't want to fight any more on "one of her bad days".
