A Tory MP has called on the government to add hair salons to the list of businesses put on lockdown if they really want to stop the rapid spread of coronavirus.
David Morris, who once owned six hair salons, told ministers that ensuring salons joined pubs, bar, gyms and theatres on the list of closed venues was a necessity if the UK was serious about tackling Covid-19.
He said: “Hairdressers don’t wear gloves when cutting hair. "It’s impossible to do so. “They touch other people on average 1,000 times per haircut.
