China could unleash a catastrophic online attack on Britain - dubbed a "cyber 9/11" - after a "perfect storm" of diplomatic rows between London and Beijing.
These arguments, coupled with tech giant Huawei and Covid-19 could lead to an all-out attack by Chinese-backed hackers, ministers say.
They would cripple computer networks, cause phone and power blackouts and bring hospitals, government and businesses to a halt.
A move by Huawei had proposed to help build Britain’s super-fast 5G mobile network but the UK Government recently announced a U-turn.
