Boris Johnson is under pressure to back a global inquiry into China's handling of the coronavirus outbreak. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has reportedly written to the British leader to back calls to launch an independent probe into the communist state.
This comes after British scientists accused China of underplaying the impact of coronavirus. The criticism prompted Chinese state ambassador, Lui Xiaoming, to warn the UK of "poisoning relations" with the regime if such accusations are checked.
Beijing has been accused of covering up the Covid-19 outbreak in the early days, the lack of information allowed the virus to spread across the world.
